Detailed description of Queenfield Golf Club

Queenfield Golf Club is a Semi-Private 18-hole golf course located only 15 minutes east of Mechanicsville in Manquin, Virginia.

Queenfield Golf Club opened for play in 2000. The course was designed by Dean Sumner.

Queenfield Golf Club is a secluded 18 hole course whose amenities include a spacious 20 station driving range, practice putting green, practice bunker and pitching green. The course is forgiving with wide fairways, but really off line shots are penalized by thick woods and / or high grass that border each hole.

Black tees: par-72, 6,783 yards, 73.3 / 136

Blue tees: par-72, 6,376 yards, 71.7 / 131

White tees: par-72, 5,802 yards, 69.1 / 125

Gold tees: par-72, 5,176 yards, 65.1 / 118

Green tees: par-72, 5,035 yards, 70.6 / 123

Our group played here 3-1-16 as an "en route" stop on our annual trek to Williamsburg. We will not do that again. Cost us $20 with the Tee Time Book, and that was a fair price. Course is not at all convenient to any major arteries, and can only be found with a really good GPS: OnStar directions don't work well, either. Best advice I can give is to take directions off the course web site. Anyway, the course itself is undistinguished: very flat, few elevation changes, water on only a few holes, and not much bunkering. Tee boxes are typically raised about a foot above surrounding terrain. Fairways are generously wide, Best feature of the layout is the greens, which are large and mildly sloped, Conditions today were not real good: fairways were damp, browned out and very thin. Bunkers super firm. Greens, however, were excellent: quick and true. Staff we met were excellent. Take this course for what it is: an unpretentious, affordable stop for local golfers. A good spot for juniors to learn the game, and for a fun day. It is most definitely NOT a recommended travel stop.

Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I wouldn't recommend this course
